Digital Campaigner at Environment America

Work with one of our campaign teams to run a powerful digital campaign to help solve global warming, expand solar energy or protect clean water.

What You Will Do:

• Write emails and campaign actions that you’ll send to hundreds of thousands of supporters;
• Design and curate content for social media, and engage with our national community;
• Coordinate with our field team of five to nine campaign organizers, and back them up with emails, web pages and digital strategy;
• Develop partnerships and creative online tactics to build our audience and raise money;
• Analyze the results of your work, and report on successes and failures;
• Keep your projects on track, hold people accountable to their deliverables, and communicate regularly with your team.

Qualifications:

You:

• Can write persuasively and boil complex issues down to a single sentence;
• Have an opinion about what works online and can point to examples to back it up;
• Are excited to learn new tools and aren’t afraid of HTML;
• Want to make the world better and won’t shy away from pointing blame;
• Have built something from scratch;
• Sweat the details.

Pay & Benefits:

Virtual Student Foreign Service Internship Program

The U.S. Department of State’s Virtual Student Foreign Service (VSFS) eInternship program is bigger and better than ever! This year, there are over 1,300 vacancies at 33 U.S. Government agencies. The 524 projects available this year can be found here. Students can apply between July 2 – 26 on USAJOBS to their top three projects.

VSFS is a way for the American public and government employees to collaborate on projects of global importance. Selected applicants will contribute up to 10 hours per week from September 2017 through May 2018 working on projects across the U.S. government. As eInterns, students will play an important role in advancing the federal government’s reach in diplomacy, development, space, journalism, trade, environment, health, agriculture, technology, housing and other essential initiatives. Together, we can create a more effective, efficient, and smarter government that takes advantage of an engaged and participatory citizenry.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled in university level courses in the U.S. or abroad. Last year, we had students in programs ranging from undergraduate to PhD levels, both full and part-time, taking courses in person or online. A resume, transcript, and statement of interest are required as part of the application process. Interviews may be conducted in August. eInternships are unpaid and do not require a security clearance or travel.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree European Politics and Society

In September 2017, Institute of International Studies at Charles University in Prague will start a new Joint Master Programme – European Politics and Society: Vaclav Havel Joint Master Programme (EPS) open for EU and non-EU students interested in history, political science and international relations.

The EPS programme got the Erasmus Mundus funding. There are 18 Full Scholarships for selected students plus monthly living allowances already for the academic year 2017/18!

2017 Global Health Symposium in Detroit

The 2017 Global Health Symposium will be held on Friday, October 20^th, 2017 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. The Symposium will be welcoming speakers from Bangladesh, Colombia, Cuba, Lao PDR, Mexico, and more presenting on topics such as policy change, global to local learning, and improved access to care. Please see the attached brochure for more details.

Only 11 days remain to submit your abstracts for consideration for this year’s Symposium. In line with 2017’s theme: “Implementation to Impact – Improving Health at Home and Abroad,” abstracts from any discipline are welcomed. Submission instructions can be found in the attached brochure. The abstract deadline is Monday, July 17^th, 2017.
