The Student Journal of Social Relations, Social Moments, is a free, online, interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal examining the social and cultural world through a social science lens. All graduate and undergraduate students of the social sciences are invited to submit articles for publication. Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to: sociology, criminology/criminal justice, women/gender studies, sexuality, political science, social psychology, cultural anthropology, and cultural/social geography. Social Moments is editorially independent. All members of the editorial team are affiliated with an accredited institution.
Papers are accepted on a rolling basis and are reviewed upon submission.

This is a fellowship program for recent college and graduate school alumni interested in the dynamic field of international peace and security. This highly selective six to nine month fellowship connects young leaders with partner institutions in Washington, DC that include leading think tanks and advocacy groups. Scoville Fellows receive a salary and benefits, learn about public policy, and expand their professional network through interactions with analysts, activists, current and former Scoville Fellows, and board members.
Scoville Fellows are supervised by senior-level staff members at the host institutions and may work on a range of issues including nuclear and conventional arms control and nonproliferation, conflict prevention and peace building, diplomacy, environmental security, and emerging technology threats. They contribute to their host organization’s goals in a variety of ways including research, public education, advocacy, writing articles, blog posts, fact sheets, letters to the editor, op-eds, and/or reports. In addition, fellows often help organize talks and conferences and attend coalition meetings, policy briefings, and congressional hearings.
Benefits of the Scoville Fellowship include: a competitive salary, basic health insurance compensation, mentoring, moving costs to DC, meetings with policy experts, a stipend for professional development purposes, and an entry into an increasingly influential network of alumni working for domestic and international NGOs, the federal government, academia, and media.

Ms. Ahmad is a partner in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and works with multiple groups within the firm dealing with White Collar Defense, Privacy, Cybersecurity and Consumer Protection. She served as Senior Assistant in Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller’s Office after a successful career as a prosecutor at the Department of Justice in both Washington, D.C. and the Eastern District of New York.

The Humanity in Action Fellowship brings together international groups of current college and university students and recent graduates to explore compelling, current issues of liberal democracy, pluralism, human rights and social justice within the specific historical and cultural contexts of each of the program sites. Intensive and demanding, the on-site programs are an educational space for transatlantic dialogue, reflection and informed action. Fellowship Dates: – European Fellowship Programs (Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Sarajevo, and Warsaw): June 3 – July 1, 2020, followed by an Action Project implementation; – John Lewis Fellowship Program (Atlanta, Georgia): June 23 – July 21, 2020, followed an Action Project implementation.
Eligibility: Current undergraduate and graduate university and college students, as well as recent graduates (within last two years), who are passionate about active citizenship, diversity and human rights are invited to apply. Applications for students and recent graduates from European universities will open in late fall.
Cost: Programing during the Humanity in Action Fellowship, including accommodations, is fully-funded. However, participants are asked to cover their round-trip travel to the program location as well as some meals and spending money for activities outside of programing. If this is not possible, Humanity in Action may provide either full or partial travel and living stipends for all those with documented need. Sustainability Leadership Training, 11.8-10 2019 | Gain the Knowledge to Change the Future
The C2C Fellows Network at the Bard Center for Environmental Policy is a national program for undergraduates and recent graduates aspiring to leadership work in sustainable politics, NGO’s and business. C2C’s intensive skills-based weekend workshops include young people from across the country. The $30 registration fee includes meals and housing. Students often receive funding to attend this conference from their student governments or sustainability offices.
Led by Dr. Eban Goodstein, Director of Bard’s Center for Environmental Policy, C2C trainings focus on key leadership skills: vision, courage, developing students’ networks, telling their story, and raising funds.
