Detroit Community Based Research Program
The DCBRP allows students the opportunity to:
  • Work full-time for ten weeks (350 hours) on a community driven research project for a non-profit organization in Detroit
  • Live with the program cohort at Wayne State University in Detroit’s Midtown neighborhood
  • Attend weekly seminars and community events about current topics affecting Detroit and the region
  • Blog about their experiences living and working in Detroit
  • Build community through engagement in weekly group meetings
  • Gain critical background knowledge on the history and impact of social justice in Detroit

Program Details: Students receive $2,500-3,500 stipend award + housing
Program dates: May 27, 2017 – August 5, 2017
Application deadline: January 16, 2017
