The Quito Project (TQP) is a student initiative from the University of Michigan and Universidad de San Francisco de Quito that works to minimize the educational achievement gap in low income neighborhoods of Quito, Ecuador. Through its global collaboration, TQP’s education component works with local communities to provide a summer tutoring program in math, reading comprehension, English, and leadership to primary school students.
TQP is looking for UM undergraduate students with Spanish proficiency to participate in our 5 week program this summer. UM students who tutor with TQP may elect to take LACS 499 after returning to campus in the fall to receive 3 credits. Interested students should apply by Friday, November 11th.
