Volunteer Opportunity for UM Students with Give Merit – FATE

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that engages youth in Detroit? If so, Give Merit’s mentorship program, FATE, is looking for a new group of University of Michigan students to become mentors.

A quick overview:

The FATE program is a 4-year, cohort-based mentorship and enrichment program for Detroit youth. FATE’s mission is to provide sufficient resources and opportunities for undeserved youth to embrace education and become world-class citizens. Its goal is to motivate each student to graduate high school and attend college through exposure to college campuses and highly interactive and engaging workshops with partners such as Google, Zingerman’s, and Plante Moran.

The first cohort of students graduated this past June, and this September, the program will start its 5th year! FATE will select a new cohort of 25 9th grade students who will participate in weekly, after-school workshop sessions. As a result, FATE is looking for new mentors to volunteer during this upcoming academic year. Learn more by watching the videos below!
