The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee in Michigan (ADC-Michigan) is seeking interns for the coming academic year. Internships are available for undergraduate students, graduates, and law students. This internship provides substantive experiences in a civil rights environment where all interns will be exposed to a broad range of civil rights projects, legal advocacy, and the day-to-day operations of a non-profit organization. The internship program is the perfect medium for developing and nurturing talented students. The internship program prepares them for future roles in cultural competency, race relations, civil rights, and advocacy. ADC encourages passionate, creative and intelligent people of all majors and backgrounds to apply.
Although the internships are unpaid, ADC-Michigan is willing to provide academic credit or community service hours in a highly educational, energetic, and hands-on environment. You will receive direct mentoring from the Director of ADC-Michigan, who is a law professor and civil rights attorney. For more information on her click here. Arabic language proficiency is a plus, although not required.
The ADC is the largest national grassroots organization in the country dedicated to safeguarding the civil rights and liberties of Arab-Americans in the United States. ADC-Michigan is the most active regional office. The organization receives calls from a diverse group of clients who feel that they may have been subjected to patent or latent forms of national origin and racial discrimination by individuals or institutions.
