Description

CARE USA has an opening for a Learning & Development Intern in the Human Resources Department.  This intern will assist the Learning and Development Advisor in the day to day management of L&D programming, marketing of the programs, and be able to provide input into the creation of new programs.  It’s an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in Nonprofit Human Resources, Employee Development, People Management in a Global organization, Project Management, and/or Communications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Draft communications for and assist the Learning and Development Advisor in the project management of CARE’s year-long high potential leadership program
  • Assist with the logistics of scheduling and holding manager training workshops in the United States and globally
  • Assist in the project management and logistical coordination of our semi‐annual Country Office Leadership Orientation in coordination with HR and International programs and operations
  • Assist with the logistics of monthly US‐based new hire orientation and help brainstorm creative ideas for onboarding  new hires
  • Help manage our online Employee Recognition system and respond to inquiries, and help brainstorm and market new Employee Recognition opportunities.
  • Come up with creative ways to market our learning and development opportunities, including printed materials and simple website work
  • Contract management
  • Opportunity to provide input into the creation of new learning and development opportunities for CARE staff Please describe the deliverables that you will expect

Primary Skills:

  • Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint)
  • Must pay close attention to details and be able to work well with diverse teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office system required
  • Project Management experience and creative thinking skills desired
  • Experience with marketing and/or communications is a plus

Duration of Internship : 6 months with possibility of extension; May 2016 – November 201
