Applications for the 68th Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) has been extended to March 1, 2016 on a rolling admissions basis.
After a preliminary review of the applicant pool, the 68th JASC has decided to extend its application deadline in order to create a more diverse delegation and will close applications once a full, diverse delegation is reached. Therefore, we strongly encourage applicants to submit their applications as soon as possible.
About Japan America Student Conference
68th JASC will take place from August 1-24, 2016 in cities throughout the United States. Students from all fields of study are welcome to apply. No Japanese language or Asian studies background is required.
Initiated in 1934, the Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) has an 80-year history that includes a host of distinguished delegates, from former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Japanese Prime Minister Kiichi Miyazawa, and president of Nissan Corporation Yutaka Katayama.
By being part of a talented group of 72 delegates from Japan and the U.S, participants will:
- delve into critical topics ranging from ethics in science to the efficacy of democracy;
- learn firsthand from established leaders and educational field trips as the delegation travels to Boston, Washington D.C., Missoula, and San Francisco;
- build professional networks through networking receptions, and
- forge lifelong friendships across the Pacific.
